Summary

Masai Mara National Reserve is one of the most popular tourism destinations in Kenya- Africa. The reserve is located in the Great Rift Valley in primarily open grassland. Wildlife tends to be most concentrated on the reserve's western escarpment. The Masai Mara is regarded as the jewel of Kenya's wildlife viewing areas.

The annual wildebeest's migration alone involves over 1.5 million animals arriving in July and departing in November. There have been some 95 species of mammals, amphibians and reptiles and over 400 birds species recorded on the reserve.

Nowhere in Africa is wildlife more abundant, and it is for this reason a visitor hardly misses to see the big five (buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion, and rhino).

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and Game Drive

Early morning pick up from Nairobi, drive through the Great Rift Valley to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve. You will arrive at your camp/lodge in time for lunch. In the afternoon, get to enjoy a game drive in this reserve which is famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest's migration and is home of the Big Five.

Large mammals are varied, and easy to see. Residents among the park are: Maasai Giraffe, Buffalo, Eland and thousands of plain game including Impala, Zebra, Topi, both Thomson's and grants Gazelles. Meals and overnight at a lodge/ camp.

Day 2: Full Day Game Viewing

After breakfast, depart for a full day game viewing with picnic lunch at the Masai Mara game reserve.
Driving across the plains in search of the big five. Vast herds of wildebeest and zebra wander across the Mara grasslands in huge numbers during this period of the annual migrations, when millions of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle traverse the Mara plains landscape to feed on the rich new grass from the Serengeti. You also have a chance to see other plain game like Topi & Eland.

Day 3: Departure

After breakfast checkout and drive back to Nairobi arriving in time for lunch
