The Aberdares are part of Kenya's central highlands, running roughly north south between Nairobi and Thomsons Falls with a range of almost 13,000 ft. The topography is diverse with deep ravines that give way to gentler valleys separated by steep hills and rocky outcrops. The park is an important water catchment area providing water to the Tana and Athi rivers and part of Central Rift and Northern drainage basins. The climate is wet and moist. Depart after breakfast and drive along Nairobi-Mombasa road to Tsavo East National Park. The park is popular for the legend of Tsavo “The Man-eaters of Tsavo”. The Yatta plateau, about 290Km long, one of the world’s longest lava flows is found in this park. The Lugards Falls on the Galana river which is a series of rapids is an ideal place to walk down to the river to view the rapids. Other attractions are the Mudanda rock, a long rock outcrop that is about 1.6Km long. You will arrive at your lodge/camp in time for lunch. Few hours at leisure before embarking for an afternoon game in the park which is home to most of the larger mammals, vast herds of dust –red elephant, Rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard, pods of hippo, crocodile, waterbucks, lesser Kudu, gerenuk and the prolific bird life features 500 recorded species.

Depart after breakfast and drive along Nairobi-Mombasa road to Tsavo East National Park. The park is popular for the legend of Tsavo “The Man-eaters of Tsavo”. The Yatta plateau, about 290Km long, one of the world’s longest lava flows is found in this park. The Lugards Falls on the Galana river which is a series of rapids is an ideal place to walk down to the river to view the rapids.
